Give Me Five!

It’s been five months since I last posted here. Five! Here’s what’s been happening:

1. As of last December, I’ve a regular writing gig as a digital writer at The A List. This means coming up with content frequently. This means going for more events, talking to more people and jumping from one topic to another within a week. It’s fun, incredibly interesting but also  challenging. I don’t write as fast as I used to, and it took me a while to get back into that groove. Also…

2. I’m still doing a few other projects on the side. I can’t say too much about them at this point, but one involves history, one involves kids, and one involves writing about a subject I’m interested in. On their own, each project seems manageable, but together with everything else (and somehow, all the deadlines have a funny way of converging together), things can seem overwhelming. This is why…

3. I now keep track of things with a bullet journal and my paper organiser. I’m a black-and-white, stationery sort of girl, so writing things out on paper sorts out my sometimes scattered brain. Bullet journalling helps me manage my work along with the other everyday tasks such as doing laundry or exercising. But still…

4. There are still the days that I have to deal with the unexpected and my colourful to-do list gets thrown off. There are also the days where I just want to be spontaneous and do things according to whims and fancies because you know…

5. Self-care. This is a loaded word, but it best describes the game plan in coping with a busy schedule. I’d like to take longer walks, go for pilates more regularly, become mostly vegetarian, and read and write (creatively) more. As a start, I’m including a 10-minute writing-for-fun “time-out” everyday.

Will keep you updated (hopefully in less than five months)!
