December 29th, 2009

I feel like I'm a combination of these five dwarfs in the picture: Grumpy - mutter mutter Doc - CHARGE!!!! Sleepy - Zzzzz Bashful - *Wide-eyed wonder* Sneezy - Sinusy snort And like all of them, I've got to get crackin'! … [Read more...]

Perseverance vs. Stretching the Limit

December 23rd, 2009

While I'm all for character building during times of trials, I also wonder whether there's such a thing as holding on for too long. There's such a thin line between being stretched/strengthened and being on the verge of snapping. The School of Hard Knocks tells you to stop being a wuss, but often, this is more of an unquestioning statement - you do not have the right to be unhappy and are much less of a person to give up on something. According to her, writing one's own story is a great way to build up self-reflection, as this act will inevitably bring in one's own life experiences. Also, by determining their own plot, they might … [Read more...]

Hiding those eyebags

December 4th, 2009

I've started to keep owlish hours since it's not necessary to wake up early on most days. However, the problem is that I still arise during morning lark hours, which means that a sleep debt is slowly but surely accumulating. The most challenging thing about freelance writing so far is not about getting jobs, but really about working out your time in the best way possible. Since it's the last month of 2009, it's timely to work out some kind of work routine that is sustainable for me in the … [Read more...]
